the Tenth Annual Study on Third Party Logistics (3PL). This study, conducted
by The Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech, Capgemini LLC, DHL, and SAP,
examines the state of 3PL Services in the U.S., Europe Asia-Pacific and Latin
America. During his presentation, Dr. Langley provides insights into some
of the following areas addressed in the study:
- Measuring the development, growth and use of 3PL services across major
industry markets, and deepening the knowledge of the services they provide.
- Identifying customer needs for information technology-based services, and evaluating how well
3PLs are responding to those needs.
- Understanding how customers purchase and manage 3PL services, and how they structure
relationships with 3PL providers. Also, seeing how 3PLs relate to customer global
needs and how customers may involve management consultants with the 3PL process.
- Examining the overall customer value framework for using 3PL services,
including customer satisfaction, 3PL service problems and how customers view 3PLs.
- Summarizing the current use of 3PL services in the U.S. Latin America,
Europe and Asia, as well as summarize how this report might benefit various
parties having an interest in 3PL services.
