When Mark joined the EMIL class of 2003 he had nine years of experience as a director with Kuehne + Nagel, Inc., one of the world's leading logistics providers. But he wanted to know more and understand how logistics impacts every part of the supply chain. "My goal was to get the tools and knowledge that would enable me to add value to our clients through supply chain initiatives – and that's exactly what EMIL provided."

Q. How has EMIL positively impacted your career and made you more valuable to your company?

A. By broadening my exposure to how logistics influences supply chain capabilities, EMIL helped me move up in the company. Now I am recognized as one of a select group of people here who are able to engage with our largest clients and prospective clients on broader supply chain issues and develop solutions that meet these broader goals and objectives.

Q. Are there times you are particularly aware of what you learned during the EMIL Program?

A. I'm constantly thinking about my EMIL experiences – especially when I am working with new clients and talking with them about their logistics requirements as an integral part of their supply chain strategy. The knowledge I gained is relevant to my work here every day.
