John brings 17 years of international experience to his position as Director,
Information Technology at Baxter Healthcare – just the kind of background
this global company requires. Baxter assists healthcare professionals and their
patients in the treatment of complex medical conditions such as hemophilia,
immune disorders, kidney disease, cancer and other conditions, through advances
in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Through his participation
in the EMIL Program, John has broadened his supply chain knowledge to balance
his wide technology expertise.
Q. Can you site any specific changes in your business approach as a result of the EMIL Program?
A. Currently we are implementing Factory Physics, a concept explored during EMIL, to help our
manufacturing plants become more productive. That"s just one example of how my participation in EMIL has impacted how we do things here.
Q. Are there other ways you continue to benefit from EMIL?
A. Thanks to EMIL, I now have an entire network of supply chain professionals
consisting of fellow EMIL participants and of contacts made during our travels
that I can bounce ideas off. I also turn to this network to see how these
experts are handling similar challenges to those we face here, rather than
spending time "reinventing the wheel". |
